Owned by a retired tug Captain and his wife, an unforeseen family event offers this "Looping" motor yacht for sale. She is a 1987 Seamaster 48 ft. motor yacht also known as a CHB 48 motor yacht. The Seamaster is a close copy of the original Hatteras 48 motor yacht built 1981-84. She has a modified-V hull with a moderate 15'4" beam, hard chines, and a shallow, full-length keel. The interior is spacious with 2 state rooms forward and aft and a midships office/stateroom. The interior has a warm look with an abundance of teak cabinetry and woodwork. Large windows provide ample light and visibility. The galley is down and includes booth style table and seating for 4 adults. This spacious interior also has three heads. The after deck is roomy and enclosed with u zip windows and sunscreens plus a wet bar. Wing doors open onto both wide side decks for easy movement forward. Fruition is new to the market and was on the American Greet Loop and performing well having logged some 2000 miles. Owned by a retired tug Captain and his wife, an unforeseen family event offers this "Looping" motor yacht for sale. She is a 1987 Seamaster 48 ft. motor yacht also known as a CHB 48 motor yacht. The Seamaster is a close copy of the original Hatteras 48 motor yacht built 1981-84. She has a modified-V hull with a moderate 15'4" beam, hard chines, and a shallow, full-length keel. FRUITION ACCOMMODATIONS

The forward stateroom offers upper and lower berths stacked to port and followed aft by a hanging locker; several drawers are to starboard. There is a guest head aft to starboard. There are opening port-lights and an overhead hatch.

The dinette is next aft to starboard with a high low table with natural lighting from the overhead salon windows and opening ports. Across to port is a nice galley with a standard sized refrigerator freezer. Also, a full-sized microwave, toaster oven and stove with oven.

Up three steps to the large and open salon featuring and abundant casual seating movable coffee table and storage cabinets in the salon with rugs and curtains.

Aft and down one passes the laundry center on the way to the portside office configured stateroom opposite the guest head.

Next aft is the master stateroom with a center line queen berth, private head with very large shower stall, three hanging lockers and ample drawer storage.

The aft deck is under a hardtop with table and chairs, wing doors and a wet bar. This is the focal point for entertainment. The area is fully enclosed with a large wet bar, and ice maker. The aft deck and Fly-bridge have nonskid decks. Both the Fly-bridge and aft deck have full Isinglass enclosures with U-Zips

The spacious Fly bridge is four steps up from the aft deck with a center-line helm and lots of guest seating.

The boat deck is aft of the fly-bridge and covers the aft deck. Here one finds a Stainless dinghy davit with electric wench and chocks for a Achilles dinghy.

The side decks are very wide and lead from the aft deck, through wing doors, to the fore-deck where there are three large dock box storage containers.

The galley is down to port and forward. It is open overhead to the forward salon windows. There is a teak parquet, laminate cabinet tops and built in microwave. Across is a large dinette, that will convert to a berth.

Engines, Transmissions, Fuel

Twin Caterpillar 3208TA (advertised 375 HP) - Turbo-after-cooled inboard V-8 diesel engines:

Engines secured to heavy duty steel frames bolted to the longitudinal stringers with cushioned adjustable mounts, amidships below the salon. Normal engine compartment access under hinged steps between the galley and dinette; covered hatches above engines in the salon sole. Engines/transmissions: Twin Dicc Marine model MG-507-1 reverse reduction gear direct drive inboard transmissions.

Transmission serial numbers: port 5X1455 - starboard 5X1458 - Gear ratio: 1.72:1

Transmissions fitted with bolt-on steel couplers connected to (estimated 2") stainless steel shafts, passing through standard pressurized FRP and bronze stuffing boxes fitted with w/fiber packings and bronze HEX nut type compression fitting.

Diesel fuel system: equipped with (4) black iron fuel

tanks; (2) secured outward of the engines and (2) below the aft bed (590 total gallons reported) remote Racor primary fuel filters/water separators and on engine canister type secondary filters. Fuel tank level gauges helm, sight fuel level tubes on main tanks - fuel shut off and selector valves installed on bulkheads near the fueltanks - fuel tank fill fittings on the aft deck and on the side decks, all marked for DIESEL - standard tank vents with thru-hull fittings at hull sides.

Cooling systems: Sea water and coolant (closed) hardware - bronze thru-hull fittings with bronze ball valve seacocks and bronze/glass, in-line strainers on engine heat exchangers/reservoirs with remote coolant discharge - standard CAT Turbo-after-coolers w/fabric type air intake filters Lubrication system: Standard CAT lube oil system w/on engine spin-on canister type oil filters and standard plumbing.

Exhaust system: Marinized wet exhaust system with; steel risers, steel and FRP ducts - reinforced rubber elbows and exhaust hoses w/double stainless-steel clamps - thru-transom exhaust discharge ports at the water line.

Compartment ventilation and auxiliary heating: (4) 120V & 12V compartment

blowers and hull side ambient air vents w/water catch boxes - portable 120V heaters for winter storage.


Generator:

NOR-PRO model 15NY - 120/240 volt 50 Amp 15 KW diesel powered generator

engine Hrs. (indicated on hour meter): 1974.9. Genset engine SN: 71661

Genset (installed 2008 per on board records) in a insulated Quiet Box on equipment shelf forward of the starboard engine. Unit is sea water cooled with 115V electric seawater pump and closed reservoir type cooling system with on unit heat exchanger.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

12 volt DC systems: the main 12V DC system is supplied by engine 90 amp

alternators and (3) 12V commercial 8D, 1100 CCA wet cell batteries secured in

battery boxes in the engine compartment. The deck winch is powered is powered by

(1) 31 series, 1000 CCA AGM battery secured below the V-berth. DC system also

equipped with; system volt and amp meters, plus engine volt meters - (1) Xantrex

XC-5012, 50 amp marine battery charger - (1) Pro Mariner ProSport 6, 6 amp marine

battery charger - (4) manual operated master battery disconnect switches -

trip free circuit breakers and in line fuses. The

main DC distribution panel is installed in the salon, sub panels installed on the bridge and in the engine compartment. Inverter system: 120V auxiliary AC power supplied by a portable Cen-Tech 2000/4000 inverterlocated in a salon compartment.




120/240 volt, 50 & 30 Amp AC systems:

Shore power systems equipped with (1) 50' 50 amp shore power cable secured to weather boat side

fitting at the port hull side. The main AC service panel is located in the salon, and equipped with; system volt and amp meters, polarity indicators, trip-free main and sub-system circuit breakers, SHIP to SHORE system change-over switch. AC system

also equipped with; port or starboard shore power inlets w/change-over switches -

sub panel with circuit breakers and inverter selection switch.

WATER & WASTE

Potable water system: Hot/cold pressurized potable water system fitted with; (2) (reported 190 gallons total) potable water tanks

120V Reem 15 gallon hot water heater

Jabsco 12V 4.3 GPM fresh water pump w/integral pressure switch, line strainer, cartridge filter - PVC plastic plumbing, copper tubing and Nylon reinforced Mylar hose.

Original CHB 70 gallon Poly coated s/s tank on center line in the engine compartment was replaced with 2 35 gal. polyethylene tanks and a 2nd original water tank integral to the hull below the aft stateroom sole is abandon do to leakage; a water tank level monitor is in the galley, dock side water fitting at port side of the deck - tank fill fitting at the port hull side marked

for WATER. The owner has a water bladder with pump when more than 70 gal. of water is necessary but this is rarely used.  


Black & gray water waste systems: Marine heads connected primarily for

holding tank or (optional) overboard discharge. Black water system fitted with; (1) (reported 50 gallon) FRP holding tank, "Y" valves and 12V macerator pumps - pump out fitting on the port side deck, marked for WASTE

Sinks drain directly overboard via thru-hull fittings; showers and AC condensate

drains to gray plastic water sumps located in the forward and aft bilges.

Sumps fitted with 12V Rule sump pumps w/float switches.
