Customers using the Marine Maintenance SystemSM (MMS) have been asking SeaKits to provide hands-on training that addresses the Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks specific to their yacht. As MMS users know there are well over 100 planned maintenance tasks for their yacht. Firsthand knowledge of each PM is crucial to the proper performance of each component. For owners who outsource much of their maintenance, having the ability to review and inspect a contractor’s work is essential to cost control and safety. In response to these needs for more intimate familiarity with PMs, SeaKits has developed the Marine Maintenance Assist (MMA) to provide a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to all of the owner’s specific vessel and equipment maintenance requirements during a two-day visit to the customer’s yacht. Prior to the visit, SeaKits will assemble a workbook that includes preparatory steps, maintenance best practices, and a description of each PM. An experienced SeaKits representative will walk through every PM and will guide the owner in the actual performance of several maintenance tasks. The owner of a 55’ cruising yacht recently engaged us for the MMA just prior to embarking on the Down East Loop. He commented to another cruiser, “The SeaKits Maintenance Assist gave me both the knowledge and confidence to do maintenance tasks I otherwise would have had reservations about. The value of the actual maintenance performed virtually covered the cost of the visit.
