Vessel Walkthrough

"GOOD DAY" enjoys the updated standard floor plan. The extra inches of length and beam in the hull of the new series of Classic add up to a roomy, open plan for the MAIN SALON. Side doors access the decks just adjacent to the helm on starboard, and just aft of the galley to port. Parquet soles are throughout the three cabins, including heads. The LOWER HELM STATION is an advantageous location from which to run the boat in any circumstance, complete with integrated electronics and controls for all systems. Just aft of the lower station to starboard the traditional Grand Banks bar complete with ice maker separates the helm from the wonderfully large, L-Shaped dining settee and table, which provides more than comfortable seating for six. To port opposite the dining area is a custom Grunert front opening freezer cabinet with built-in settee alongside. Overhead there is 12VDC panel lighting, a classic brass lantern hanging over the dining table, and a grab rail centerline running the length of the cabin.

Forward to port is the GALLEY which incorporates a complete, open workspace. A large single stainless sink is at center, flanked on the right by an electric 3-burner cooktop with full oven, and to the left at counter level, a microwave, and below the counter a Grunert refrigerator. Both the refrigerator and freezer will operate on air cooling mode should the water cooling system be unavailable. Abundant cabinet and drawer storage complete this area's utility.

Three steps down from the galley area is the GUEST STATEROOM. There is a privacy door and sliding hatch at the top of the steps which allows this area to be closed off. Forward is a large V-Berth with 4 drawers below and additional blind storage beneath the mattress. To starboard is an en-suite head with Vacu-Flush toilet (new 10/2014), seamless cultured marble vanity top/sink, shower and screened, opening window. There is ample storage in cabinets and drawers. Aft to port opposite the head is a large 3/4 height hanging locket and an adjacent cabinet with shelf storage. A heavy teak plank ceiling is on the cabin sides and the floors throughout are parquet. Down three steps from the after salon is the MASTER STATEROOM. A heavy teak ceiling is on the cabin sides, and three screened, opening windows, and an opening escape hatch to the cockpit provide an excellent supply of light and fresh air to this cabin. There is a walk-around queen berth with a long counter top and eight drawers to starboard, and an aft corner desk and stool with adjoining cabinetry containing 5 drawers to port. Forward to port is the MASTER HEAD with Vacu-flush toilet, a seamless cultured marble vanity top/sink, and a large teak framed mirror above and cabinet below. Two other adjacent cabinets and two drawers provide good storage, and a screened, opening window gives good fresh air and light. Aft to starboard is a separate, large shower room with a teak grated floor. A large cabinet outboard gives extensive underdeck storage for towels and supplies. Aft center adjacent to the stairs are two hanging lockers and a partial mirror; floors are parquet.

Decks:

The teak decks of "GOOD DAY" are wide, secure and make it easy for a cruising couple to dock and/or anchor. Moderately high bulwarks, and sturdy stainless stanchions and rails provide good protection offshore. A reliable Lofrans windlass can haul or deploy both anchors, and be controlled from foredeck, bridge or lower helm. Heavy duty stainless hardware abounds on deck from bow to stern. Attractive varnished teak cap rails and house trim distinguish the classic look with obvious good maintenance. Leading from the port side deck are stainless railed steps and teak walkway accoss the aft cabin trunk to the spacious bridge deck. Atop the starboard aft cabin trunk is a RIB secured in sturdy stainless and teak chocks with tie downs. The dingy is hoisted by a multipart tackle system on the staysail boom. The flybridge will seat quite a crowd, and there is voluminous storage below settees as well as forward in the eyebrow lockers. A fully integrated array of controls and electronics makes this an excellent fair weather helm.
