Davis (Dave) Wilder represents Curtis Stokes & Associates, Inc. in the Baltimore MD / Chesapeake Bay Region. He is a Bay enthusiast having grown up sailing, fishing and boating on the Bay for 40 plus years. He also honed his boating skills summering on the St Lawrence Seaway and Lake Ontario in upstate NY and Canada, owning his first boat at the age of fifteen.
His love of the water led him to study environmental science at Ithaca College, NY, and later environmental law at the University of Baltimore. While a student at Ithaca College, Dave had the opportunity to work on and sail on Lake Cayuga. After college, he had the chance to work on a lobster boat out of Long Island, NY to earn money for Grad School.
During his earlier career as an Environmental Engineer, Dave was placed on long term assignments up and down the East Coast. This afforded him the luxury of travel beyond the Bay into the Atlantic, Long Island Sound, and Block Island Sound, as well as the Hudson River, Erie Canal and Lakes Ontario and Erie. He called various ports in NJ, NY and CT as home as a “live aboard” during many of these assignments.
Dave has a U.S.C.G 100 ton Masters Captains license and he is a member of AGLCA (America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association), having a lifelong desire to travel all of the Great Lakes and beyond. Being a wooden boat enthusiast and self-proclaimed wooden boat specialist, he is an active member of the Antique Boat Museum, Clayton, NY and a participant in their Race Boat Regatta, racing a Class C/D utility originally built with his father in the 70’s and recently restored and repowered.
He is an active participant in the Baltimore community, being a member of Back on My Feet, a nonprofit group chartered to helping men and women in temporary shelters improve their lives through a running and education program. Other communal involvement includes supporting The Living Classroom Foundation, a program to help underprivileged children learning math and science through boat building and charting skills.
Dave’s hobbies include buying, restoring and selling boats of various sizes and vintages. He now has expanded this lifelong desire of everything boating to include the natural progression to yacht brokerage.
