The Hatteras 70' ranked among the biggest production convertibles of the time when it was introduced in 198. Described by Hatteras as a "dedicated sport fisherman" with the best of all worlds. The 18' beam affords abundant storage, roomy accommodations, and sleeping arrangements for the owner, guests, and crew. A heavily built boat, prop pockets are recessed into the hull to reduce draft and a long keel aids directional stability. The spacious four stateroom interior is arranged with the galley and dinette forward, one step up from the salon. All heads have stall showers and the full-beam amidships owner's cabin features a centerline king bed, desk area, walk-in closet, and private head with shower/tub. Topside, the enclosed flybridge (extended aft deck) features Stidd helm chairs, wet bar and a mezzanine deck that overlooks the massive 160 sq. ft. cockpit.
