Description

Altair is a 1987 Bristol 43.3, hull ID BT00002C87. She was purchased by the second owner in 1989. The family owned Altair until her sale to current owner in January 2019. Altair was continually kept in Jamestown, Rhode Island. It was used in the summer and stored in a covered heated building during the winter. All work on Altair was performed by the Jamestown yard. This yard is an old New England yacht yard with very skilled artisan’s performing old world-quality work. No expense was spared. The owner died in 2015. Immediately prior to his sudden death he spent over $65,000 by having the yard install a new diesel, new stainless steel tanks for both fuel and water and new electrical including battery charger, 3000 watt inverter, new engine room ventilation. The mast was rewired and painted and more. Following the owner’s death, Altair sat for two years under cover in her shed. At the time of purchase by the present owner the new Westerbeke had 88 hours.

Since her purchase the refit was completed.  The following actions by the current owner have been performed to bring her to true “Bristol Fashion”.
