Description
The Grand Banks Eastbay 49' is arguably the finest and one of the most beautiful yachts to come from the boards of C. Raymond Hunt and Associates, and "Metanoia" is no exception!! Her design has defined the modern downeast cruiser, with most other builders trying to emulate the yacht since her introduction. Graceful sheer and moderate bow flare are reminiscent of Maine lobster boats, while her modified deep-V hull with computer designed lifting strakes are at the forefront of modern underbody design. Her twin 705hp Caterpillar C12s engines (only 2470 original hours and services up to date) provide ample, reliable power and speed, and she cruises easily at 25 knots. The interior accommodations are well designed and provide a bright and airy ambiance. The galley like other living spaces is efficient with ample storage and top of the line appliances. Flawless joinery and elegant upholstery throughout have been refreshed and well maintained, and the vessel is professionally cleaned and managed. "Metanoia" is modern, fast, dry, stable, and beautifully detailed, as one would expect in a Grand Banks yacht. This boat is in turn-key condition and will readily appeal to a discerning yachtsman. If you wish to cruise in luxury and turn heads in every harbor, "Metanoia" should be at the top of your list!
General Layout:
The yacht features a large cockpit with transom door to swim platform, enclosed pilot house with comfortable seating and entertainment center plus the sought-after starboard pilothouse helm door! Lower deck with two cabin, two head layout, galley and lower salon. The Master is forward with an island queen berth and ensuite head with separate stall shower. There is a guest cabin to port with athwartships twin berths, hanging locker and storage drawers. The guest head is opposite the guest cabin and features a stand-up shower, sink with vanity, and Vacu-Flush head system. The galley has solid-surface countertops with moldings, twin under-counter Vitrifrigo refrigerator with additional top=loading freezer. Princess 3 burner electric stove with oven and broiler, and Sharp Convection Microwave. Lots of counter surface and storage space, including bottle storage, and a very functional galley in a seaway. The salon area offers a large L-shaped settee with electronically actuated High/Low Teak table, decorative chair and entertainment center creating a fabulous indoor entertaining space. The salon and lower decks have a beautiful teak and holly sole, and the yacht is air conditioned and heated to maintain comfort in varying climates. Year-round boating at its finest!
