Notes from the Seller

Usually cruise at 17-19 mph at 2400 rpms. At that speed we were burning about 25 gallons an hour. Sometimes we would run slow at 8-9 mph at about 1000 rpm and at those speeds we were burning about 5-6 gallons an hour.

I wanted to give you a brief summation of how we used Ohana. She was never intended to be a “floating condo” at a marina. We were down at Kemah at least once a month but in the warm months it was more like 2 or 3 times a month. On those short visits we would take her out for the day to Red Fish or on to Galveston for lunch. We did spend several overnight or weekend trips either anchoring out or utilizing Pelican’s Rest Marina, Moody Garden Marina or Galveston Yacht Basin. Longer trips are listed below.

  • 7/27/21 First long trip out in the gulf where we ran 12 knots and took 6 hours to get to Surfside staying at Bridge Harbor Yacht Club.
  • 7/30/21 Continuing south in the gulf at 14-16 knots 2400rpm we stopped at Port O’Conner for fuel before continuing on the ICW to Port Aransas for a few days.
  • 8/1/21 Took ICW to Surfside Marina for the night and then ran her outside in the gulf the rest of the way home to Kemah
  • 7/27/22 Started a repeat trip to Port Aransas stopping at Surfside for the evening again at Bridge Harbor Yacht Club. The following day rough waves made us seek shelter in the ICW after we got fuel at Port O’Conner. Then, with Port Aransas Municipal Marina in sight, the port engine stopped due to a short in the harness. 8/19/22 we started the 3 day return trip using only the starboard engine. Once we were back at Kemah Boardwalk Marina, Ohana sat for almost 6 months stuck in “the supply chain” waiting for a new harness. Once it was finally replaced we had to haul her out for a bottom job including replacing zincs.
  • Within the last 2 weeks oil and filters have been changed in both engines as well as in the generator. Fuel filters have also been recently changed. All to make sure she will run properly. Engine room has been thoroughly cleaned by the man we have had wash Ohana every 2 weeks since we purchased her. He also just recently did a thorough wash and wax of her exterior, including the shades that go over the windows.

Repairs and Maintenance Since Purchased

  • Wax every 6-9 months
  • Wash every 2-3 weeks
