Description
Considered by many to be the best passagemaker in her class, the Hunter 49's overall length of 49 feet 11 inches, 14 feet 5 inch beam and 6 feet 9 inches of salon headroom, make her an impressive, luxurious and roomy yacht. The master cabin has a walk-around double bunk with sumptuous upgraded mattress, en suite head to stb, shower compartment to port and large hanging lockers. The main salon has a dining area to stb with seating for 8 and settee to port. Aft of the settee is the nav station, which has a leather bucket seat and custom computer setup. The spacious and well appointed galley to stb and two identical guest cabins aft of the companionway.
The Hunter 49 accelerates quickly under sail. Her powerful, 9/10 fractional, deck-stepped, two-spreader mast stands 63 feet, 4 inches off the water. She sports in-mast furling, an inner forestay rigged with a self-tacking, furling staysail. Complemented by an overlapping genoa furling on the headstay, this elegant double headed rig provides balance and power. There's no backstay required due to shroud placement aft, allowing the spreaders 28 degrees of sweep.
