Roberto was born in Macerata, on the Adriatic coast in Italy. He started sailing with his dad on a wooden boat, a 18ft Beccaccino which became his after his father got a bigger sailboat. Roberto learned the racing side of sailing doing club regattas onboard Flying Junior and 470.
When he was 19 he moved to the USA where he continued his career in the hospitality industry working as a manager or sommelier in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the country, like Ivo’s on Longboat Key, Florida, the Charleston Grill in Charleston,South Carolina and the Versace Mansion in Miami, Florida.
After having fun sailing HobieCats for a couple of years, Roberto bought an Ericson 28 and a few years later moved up to a Hunter 31, the beloved Elysium. Roberto also kept on club racing whenever he had the opportunity and while in Charleston he crewed on Bad Boys III for Volvo Cup Regatta.
After a serious accident on the job, while he was the manager for a wine distribution in Florida, Roberto and his wife Monica and daughter Serena moved to Europe to recover from the injuries. There Roberto got better and started working in London for Clos Maggiore, one the most iconic restaurants in the UK.After a couple of years in England, 2 years in Italy and 2 years in Marbella Spain, Roberto and his family moved back to Florida.
In Fort Myers Beach Roberto bought first a Pacemaker 34ft and then a Carver 33 ft power boat on which he lived on for a few years until moving to Miami. In Miami Roberto leveraged his extensive boating knowledge, sales expertise, and customer-centric approach to help clients fulfill their yachting dreams. His ability to match individuals with their ideal vessels, conduct sea trials, and facilitate successful transactions earned him a job as yacht broker.
After his daughter and granddaughter Elyssia moved to Huntsville, Roberto, his wife and their lab retriever Kona followed them soon after. And yes, Elyssia was named after Elysium. This January they were blessed with a second granddaughter Aster.
With a deep understanding of the boating industry and a genuine passion for both sailboats and powerboats, he assists clients in the Florence-Huntsville area in finding their perfect vessels or successfully selling their cherished yachts.Roberto’s impeccable reputation as a trusted professional, coupled with his exceptional customer-centric approach, ensures a seamless and successful yachting experience
