Skip Newell comes from a long line of sailors. He grew up in New England cruising the Sound with his family. After moving to Northern Virginia as a teen, he taught sailing at Belle Haven Marina. Years later, he landed in San Francisco and lived on a houseboat in Sausalito for several years, exploring the Bay with family, friends, and local sailing community. Arriving back in the DMV a decade ago he currently owns a 27 Catalina kept in Shadyside Maryland where You can find him working on his boat or sailing at every chance.
