Yacht Broker Wayne Smith

Edenton, NC
Yacht Broker Wayne Smith
Wayne was born and raised in suburban New York where he spent many years navigating the bays and inlets of Long Island’s south shore. He and his wife are recent transplants to Edenton, North Carolina, where he can now frequently be found on the Albemarle Sound and surrounding waters.

Wayne spent many years in the publishing industry, most notably as President and CEO of Greenwood-Heinemann, a publisher of reference and professional content, before launching his own internet-based company selling academic and research books. Wayne has a BA in History from Stony Brook University and an MBA from Baruch College.

Throughout his business career, Wayne has always been committed to the highest levels of customer service and he now brings that same dedication and commitment to his role as a Yacht Broker for Curtis Stokes & Associates. Wayne sees each potential yacht buyer and each seller as having unique requirements. His role is to understand his clients in a way that assures the best possible match between buyer and seller, leading to the most positive outcome attainable for all parties. Simply put, Wayne’s goal is to make it possible for someone to get as much pleasure out of their yacht as he gets out of his own.

Aside from his passion for boating, Wayne regularly volunteers his time in support of a local effort dedicated to feeding the homeless. He and his wife are the proud parents of two daughters, each of whom have gotten accustomed to their father’s obsession with boating.

Wayne is a member of the AGLCA (America’s Great Loop Cruiser Association), MTOA (Marine Trawler Owner Association) and the Albemarle chapter of the U.S. Power Squadron.
