Description

The owner had this boat SIX DAYS after he took delivery on August 2nd and said, “SELL IT”. I thought he was kidding, but after another minute or so I knew he wasn’t. He quickly determined he wanted something bigger, so he bought a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 from us and we took this boat in on trade.

This is about as new as it gets without being brand new! There are around 20 hours on the engine. It’s never been anchored, the stoves have never been used (the packing material is still in the microwave), it’s never been slept in (maybe a nap?). This boat is like new and comes with the full factory warranty, including a five-year warranty on the Yanmar engine (exclusive to Groupe Beneteau products).

This immaculate, nearly new, Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 is configured with a shoal keel, and the 2 cabin, 1 head layout. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 is one of the most popular models ever produced by Jeanneau. They are approaching 1000 349 hulls built; this one is #901.  In its introduction, the Sun Odyssey 349 was named "Import Boat of the Year" and "Best Pocket Cruiser" by Cruising World in 2015.

With a sharp hull chine, owners repeatedly enjoy the benefits of added stability and performance. At the helm, you benefit from twin wheels combined with twin rudders, to give exceptional control when cruising. Two comfortable cabins, with “French doors” to the forward stateroom, an efficient galley, a huge head with a separate shower, a huge garage accessible from inside or the cockpit and loads of cockpit seating are a few of the reasons the Sun Odyssey 349 has been such a success story.

What’s the catch?

The owner put a bimini on (Sunbrella "Toast"), but with many years of racing didn’t want a dodger. Easy enough...

He didn’t want air conditioning, as his intent was single-handed daysailing. At this price, there’s room to add canvas and air and still come out WAY ahead.

There’s in-mast furling, a conventional 110% Genoa and a Mylar/Aramid Code 0 sail, so that’s all nicely equipped and easy to handle from the cockpit. The bottom was barrier coated with two coats of Interlux 2000 and then two coats of bottom paint.

There’s a bow thruster, windlass and about 220’ of chain and rode. Optional swim platform and a 3-blade folding prop. Raymarine electronics, including a below deck autopilot with a wireless remote, Axiom touchscreen plotter, i70 Multi display, an AIS transceiver and a VHF. There is also a Seanapps boat monitoring system on this boat, so you can keep an eye on it remotely from your phone.

Save some money, already commissioned, and available immediately! Prices have just increased on the new boats, making this an even better deal.

Call and make an appointment to come see this beauty before she is snatched up!

Accommodations

Master stateroom:  The entry into the forward cabin is through a set of double doors. This opens the space up, improves ventilation and makes the overall interior of the boat feel larger. The spacious 6’7” x 5’7” forward berth is built low enough that you can sit down on it- no climbing to get in! Fiddled shelving runs along each hullside and has indirect lighting behind it, providing an attractive yet subtle feel. At the aft end on starboard is a changing seat with a cubby below it. On the port side is a locker that is split shelving and hanging locker, with a cubby below that as well. There is a reading light on the port side of the berth; A hatch and a Hella fan provide additional light and ventilation.  There is 6’2” headroom in this space.

Salon:  The Jeanneau 349 salon is extraordinarily bright and open, with a large overhead hatch, hullside windows and fixed lights the length of the space on either of the house sides. The hullside windows are at just the right height to sit and look out at your surroundings, which is a really nice feature. Straight settees are on either side; the starboard settee is 6’7” long and the port is 5’9”.  Both settees have storage beneath them, behind sliding doors that are located between the seat cushion and back rest cushions, and two top access storage lockers above and behind the seat backs. The dinette table is drop-leaf and has bottle storage inside it. Above are grab rails along the ceiling; these have indirect LED lighting above them as well as two overhead LED lights at the forward end of the table. There is bottle storage beneath the galley counter at the rear of the starboard settee.  There are two Hella fans in this space as well. Headroom is 6’3”.

Nav station:   The nav station is aft facing on port and utilizes the settee for the seat. The chart table has a leather surface and can swing up and out of the way for electrical access or more space at the dinette. The electrical and electronics panel is hinged and can lower easily for access to those components.

Galley: With 6’2” headroom, the galley is at the base of the companionway on starboard. L-shaped, the sink counter has it oriented toward centerline. Below the sink is a locker with a swing-out trash bin, a produce bin, and a shelf. To the right of the sink is the top loading, 26-gallon icebox with refrigeration. Above the icebox and along the hull is a drop-door locker and a microwave above that.

Moving around and along the hullside, there is a locker below the counter with shelves and a pull-out cutlery drawer. To the right of this is the stove, with a locker beneath it for pots and pans.

Behind the hullside counter and stove is a fiddled shelf area for utensils, spices and what not. Above that are two drop-front lockers. There are under cabinet lights, fixed hullside lights and an opening port in the galley.

Aft stateroom:  Entry to the aft stateroom is on starboard aft of the galley. There is 6’3” headroom as you enter, with a double door locker to your left that is half hanging and half shelves. There is cubby storage below it and fiddled shelf space above it. The berth is 6’7” x 5’3” and has LED indirect lighting along the hull and a wall mounted light in the entry. An opening port, an overhead hatch and a Hella fan provide plenty of ventilation.

Head:  Entry to the head is where it should be- at the base of the companionway- and on port. As you enter, the sink is straight ahead of you. There is a locker beneath the counter as well as a mirrored, drop-door medicine cabinet above it. The toilet is to the left of the sink.

To the left of that is the separate stall shower. A bi-fold door closes this space off and the shower head is on a sliding adjustable height mount on a bar. Along the hull is shelf space for toiletries and a hanging bar for wet gear.

The aft end of the shower stall has a large door leading to the lazarette space. This is also where the batteries and battery switches are located. The lazarette can also be accessed from the cockpit through a hatch.  Headroom in here is 6’1”. There are two opening ports and three fixed lights, two wall mounted LED lights and one reading light in this space.
