Description
Calypso is a sought after and desirable 1995 Tollycraft 45CPMY. Tollycraft vessels are revered for their handling, performance, and fuel efficiency. Designed by the renowned naval architect Ed Monk as a 44CPMY, the swim platform was made longer in 1994, and the 45CPMY was born. The interior was reconfigured in 1995, the year Calypso was built in the Kelso, Washington facility. Tollycraft Yachts founder R.M. "Tolly" Tollefson once called the 44CPMY his personal favorite of all the boats Tollycraft ever produced. "Tolly" was a cabinetmaker when he founded the company, and his devotion to fine woodworking is obvious in the joinery of Calypso.
New to the market, Calypso's highly-experienced cruising owners have made extensive upgrades in the few years they have owned her. She has cruised intracoastal waters and to the Bahamas, and is the perfect vessel for any cruising adventure. Calypso was outfitted with two 75 gallon auxiliary fuel tanks, which increase her range. Her (newly refurbished) stabilizers make for comfortable cruising in any conditions.
In Greek mythology Calypso enchants Odysseus with her singing, and would like to keep him and love him forever, but must set him free. It is time for the current owners to set Calypso free, but hope her new owners will love her as much as they do.

1995 TOLLYCRAFT 45 VESSEL WALK-THROUGH
Calypso can be boarded from her large swim platform or over the gunnels into the cockpit, then up a ladder onto the sundeck. There are also railing openings on either side deck. The flybridge is up a few steps from the sundeck to port. There is a bi-panel door from the sundeck, down a few steps into the salon. A sliding door at the interior helm station also leads into the salon from the starboard side deck.
A centerline set of steps lead down to the galley to port and dinette to starboard. The ensuite V-berth is forward of the galley, with the head to port.
The ensuite master stateroom is down a few steps, aft of the salon.
The owners have cleverly turned all usable space into additional storage, which is perfect for provisioning for long journeys. They had a custom-built dinette added, with additional storage.
1995 TOLLYCRAFT 45 ACCOMMODATIONS
SALON
The roomy salon on Calypso provides a comfortable space for entertaining or relaxing. The large front and side windows provide plenty of natural light. The windshield and side entrance door are covered with custom made white Sunbrella canvas. The wood blinds on the salon windows coordinate with the teak joinery; the sole is teak and holly, and provides access to the engine room with lift-off panels. A removable stainless steel ladder was added to make engine room access easier.
A medium blue L-shaped modular settee is to starboard, with storage beneath the cushions. The fabric covers are removable and machine-washable. A small wood table is next to the settee, near the sliding door which provides access to the starboard side deck. The lower helm station was an option in the 45CPMY.
A bank of cabinetry is to port, across from the settee. The teak cabinets include: an ice maker, a bottle rack, storage, the electrical panel, and the control panel for the generator.
A breakfast bar/counter is to port. It can also be used as a work station. The countertop is neutral 4"x4" tiles with terra cotta colored grout. Two ottoman/stools/storage boxes provide seating at the counter. They can also be used in front of the settee. A 36" flat screen TV is mounted over the counter, and can be swiveled to view from the salon or the dinette.
An EPIRB distress signal is mounted in the salon.
GALLEY
The U-shape galley on Calypso is down a few steps from the salon to port. The openness means that the cook can always be part of the conversation. The steps lift up to provide additional access to the engine room. The galley features: a double stainless steel sink with a faucet and separate spray nozzle, a brand new GE microwave oven (2021), an aluminum backsplash, an AC/DC Norcold refrigerator/freezer (3 years old), an opening window over the sink with wood blinds, a teak and holly sole, a slide-out cutting board, a galley ware cabinet with a stemmed glass rack and mug hooks, and drawers and cabinets for storage. The new Princess electric stove/oven features: 220 power, a 3 burner flat glass cooktop, and a retractable cover with built-in wood cutting board. A 110/220 transformer, dedicated to the stove/oven, was added when the range was changed from propane to electric.
DINETTE
The dinette on Calypso is across from the galley, on the same level, but on a platform. It was added by the current owners, who replaced a navigation station. The well thought-out dinette was made by a ship's carpenter in Fort Pierce, FL, and converts to a berth. It features: neutral vinyl cushions, a Formica teak trimmed tabletop, storage in the teak and holly sole for the central vacuum hoses, a clever pop-open cabinet for storing the central vacuum attachments, storage under the seats, 6 gang outlets which are convenient for lap-top usage, and a cabinet over the table for storage. The central vacuum system is located in the dinette area.
The Water Counter tank monitoring system is also located in the dinette area, and can be viewed from the galley. This system has an LED panel that shows you exactly how many gallons you have in your fresh water tank at any given moment. It is especially helpful when travelling in the islands. The system has been installed on yachts of varying sizes, and is the invention of the current owner of Calypso.
MASTER STATEROOM
The full beam master stateroom on Calypso is aft of the salon, down a few steps to port through a sliding privacy door, and is located under the sundeck. The master stateroom features: a queen walk-around berth, teak joinery, 4 Art Deco wall sconces, 2 reading lights, a dresser top with mirror, 2 large hatches with wood blinds that open onto the cockpit, opening windows with wood blinds, a carpeted sole, lighted hanging lockers with louvered doors, numerous drawers and cabinets for storage, and an ensuite head.
MASTER HEAD
The master stateroom on Calypso features an ensuite head with a separate stall shower. A large opening window over the sink, with wood blinds, can provide natural light, which is reflected by the large mirror and mirrored ceiling. The sole is teak and holly, and there is a sliding privacy door. There is a molded sink and countertop. Storage is available in the large teak cabinet behind the head, in a small drawer, and under the sink. A towel ring and towel bar is on either side of the sink. The head is a Vacuflush. The shower features: a light, a portlight, a hand holdable shower head, and a shelf/ledge for toiletries.
V-BERTH/GUEST STATEROOM
The ensuite guest stateroom is the V-berth on Calypso, which is forward of the galley. The same teak and holly sole continues into the V-berth. The sides of the berths are striped Sunbrella fabric, with a neutral grey Sunbrella fabric on the berths themselves. The V insert is available to convert the bed from two singles to one double. There is a Bomar hatch in the headliner, with a sliding screen and room darkening shade. Wood blinds cover the portlights on either side. Each berth has a reading light. Storage is available under the berths, in the deep hanging locker, and in cubbies next to the berths. The anchor locker access is forward.
GUEST HEAD
Calypso's guest head, ensuite to the V-berth, is a "wet head". There is a molded sink and counter, a portlight with a pull-down shade, a mirrored bulkhead, a Dometic electric head, a towel bar, storage cabinets, a shower curtain and a solar exhaust fan.
1995 TOLLYCRAFT 45 SWIM PLATFORM AND COCKPIT
The swim platform was extended on the Tollycraft 44CPMY to make the 45CPMY, so Calypso has a large swim platform. It features: a swim ladder, cleats, convenient aft fuel tank fills and vents, hand holds, and a tuna door on the gunnel that swings into the cockpit.
The swim platform on Calypso has been reinforced in order to install a Dinghy Caddy davit system. Unfortunately, the system was too cumbersome for the current owners, but the reinforcement is already done to mount a tender to the swim platform.
The cockpit on Calypso is roomy enough to move about while fishing or to add chairs for relaxing at the dock. It features: additional cleats on the gunnels, rod holders, built-in storage on both sides with white vinyl removable cushions, a hot/cold shower, dock water connection, electrical connections, a fresh water tank fill, a wash-down connection, and a ladder up to the sundeck. A deck hatch opens to the lazarette compartment, where the generator is located. An electric continuous duty fan and vent has been installed to dissipate any fumes.
1995 TOLLYCRAFT 45 SUNDECK
With more than 130 SF of usable space, the sundeck on Calypso will be your favorite place to sit and relax. Navy blue canvas panels form privacy shades at deck level. The vessel is outfitted with both sunshades and privacy canvas which attach to the sundeck hardtop. Free-standing chairs and tables can be moved about, and stored when not in use. A large free-standing deck box is available for storage. An integral L-shaped seating area with white vinyl cushions and storage is to starboard, with an oval high/low table. There are numerous cup holders. A clever Plexiglass table over the aft salon window is very versatile and can be used a variety of ways. The current owners have their grill mounted on it. The Plexiglass allows light through the salon window, which has a cover.
The sidewalks on both sides are accessible two steps down from the sundeck, which aids in line handling. There are two steps down to the door into the salon, and four steps up to the flybridge.
1995 TOLLYCRAFT 45 FLYBRIDGE
The fully enclosed flybridge with Isinglass windows offers great views for navigation. An L-shaped settee with white vinyl cushions is aft to starboard, for guests. The captain and navigator both have fully adjustable Stidd helm chairs with foot rests. The hardtop is available for mounting solar panels. The aft windows unzip for access to the sundeck hardtop, where the tender and crane are located. The AC/DC electric refrigerator/freezer cooler box conveys with the vessel providing additional freezer storage.
1995 TOLLYCRAFT 45 DECK AND HULL
The Tollycraft 45 CPMY is built on a (trademarked) Quadra Lift hull, which makes for a dry ride and dampens roll. Tollycraft vessels are built for the rugged waters of the Pacific Northwest. The Quadra Lift is unlike a typical hard-chined hull. The Quadra Lift hull has a pair of chines with a compound curve in between. The two chines together keep the hull from plunging too deep in heavy seas, dampen roll action and strengthen the hull sides. Calypso also has stabilizers.
The foredeck features fender racks, a windlass with foot controls, and ground tackle on the pulpit. The anchor is 40lb with 130' of 3/8 chain. The photos show Bird Off, a patented removable bird deterrent system installed on the handrails. The product was invented by the current owners of Calypso. The 50 amp shore power cable is on the starboard side deck, near the salon access door, and has a Cablemaster handling and storage system.
A hailer and a spotlight are mounted on the brow of Calypso. A Kahlenberg K-380 dual trumpet horn, which is famous for its musical sound quality, durability, and exceptional finish is also mounted on the brow.
