A popular model for many years, the Albin 43 is a solid, well-built boat with distinctive lines, an attractive teak interior, and the full walkaround decks common to a trunk-cabin trawler design. The Albin is heavily built on a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull with a deep forefoot, hard aft chines, and a long prop-protecting keel. Boasting a wide 14'6" beam, a two-stateroom interior was standard in the Albin 43 and several three-stateroom layouts were optional. Entering the salon from port or starboard sliding doors, a convertible L-shaped sofa with folding table is starboard in the salon and a wet bar is located in the aft port corner. Large windows provide good visibilty from the lower helm, and the bench seat at the helm has storage under. The galley is down in the two-stateroom configuration, up in the three-stateroom layout. There are V-berths in the forward stateroom and a walkaround queen berth in the aft stateroom. Teak parquet flooring is found throughout the interior,. A single diesel was standard, but most Albin 43s were delivered with twin 120/135hp Lehman diesels (8 knot cruise/11 knots top). Cruising range in an impressive 650-700 miles.

Joe Evans grew in up Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina – just north of Charleston. When he was 10, his family bought a small skiff and from that point forward almost every available minute was spent on the water fishing, oystering, diving or just cruising around.
In 1989, Joe began attending Florida State University. There he met his wife Christine, and they sailed competitively for Florida State both in the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association as well as MORC and SORC offshore races on various sailboats. Joe graduated with a degree in Biology with an emphasis on Fisheries, and was also awarded the elite Seminole Torchbearers Award for Leadership.
However, degrees don’t always fit with careers and after a little time in the research and fisheries workforce Joe began a near two decade career in broadcast television sales. Sales included local ad time sold for individual market television stations, as well as negotiating large multi-million dollar deals on a national/regional basis primarily out of Charlotte. During this span, Joe and his growing family moved aggressively around the southeast. Stops included television stations in Ft. Myers, FL, Greensboro, NC, Charleston, WV and ultimately having the opportunity to move back home to Mt. Pleasant.
During those years, Joe has owned several boats – from a center console open fisherman up to a 45’ Hatteras sportfisher. He possesses an OUPV USCG license, is PADI certified, and is a graduate of the Yacht Broker Institute. His favorite fishing is offshore in search of big game. Other interests include being active in fitness and CrossFit/Irontribe, coaching kids track and field and coaching a youth sporting clays team.
With a passion for boats, attention to detail, and a strong history of successful sales & negotiations, he’s ready to provide the service necessary to help you find the right boat.
Joe works out of Mt. Pleasant/Charleston, South Carolina, and can be reached at jevans@curtisstokes.net or call (843) 813-8324.
