ABOUT FU HWA:

In the 1970s and 80s many Trawlers sold in the USA were built by one of five boat yards in Taiwan under various brand names such as Marine Trader, CHB, Defever, etc. Fu Hwa is one of the yards that produced the Marine Trader. Fu Hwa accepted private orders for production runs of 5 or more. In such cases the boats were listed as Fu Hwa instead of Marine Trader. Docktail is one such boat and is basically the Marine Trader "Labelle" model w/cockpit.

SUNDECK:

Entering the through gates on the port or starboard side deck and walking aft, you will find the large sundeck offering plenty of space for entertaining in this open and airy section of the boat. The sun deck is open to the fly bridge forward, with a stair case up found center. The staircase to the salon is adjacent to port, with the wet bar on the starboard side. The wet bar features a sink with hot & cold running water, two under counter storage lockers and a Magma BBQ grill. The sundeck is protected from the sun and rain by a hard top and is furnished with four chairs and a table. The cockpit and full beam swim platform is accessed via a staircase/ladder located at gate in the aft center rail of the sundeck.

FLYBRIDGE:

Moving up to the flybridge the helm is found center forward and features captain?s pedestal mounted chair. An L shaped settee runs along the port side and wraps around the back of the bridge, with a second settee found on the starboard side. Along the back, the bridge is open to the sundeck below with the tender deck above, providing excellent 360 degree visibility. The fly bridge is fully protected from the elements by a Bimini top with a full canvas-eisinglass enclosure.

COCKPIT:

The roomy cockpit is found aft of the sundeck and is accessed via a staircase/ladder. The cockpit features four fishing rod holders, a hand held shower with hot and cold running water and an outboard motor mount w/Johnson 6 hp outboard. A transom gate opens to the swim platform. The owners report the cockpit is one of the most functional features of the boat and has proven a great asset whether docking, boarding from floating and low docks or for water sports and of course fishing.

SWIM PLATFORM:

The full beam teak swim platform accessed from the cockpit via a center mounted gate and features a fold up stainless steel swim ladder

SIDE DECKS & BOW:

The side decks are accessed two steps down from the sundeck and, along with the bow, are enclosed by a teak and stainless railing with midship gates on both the port and starboard side. Stainless steel hand holds are mounted on the cabin side, and four cleats are found port and starboard midship and forward. The bow features a pulpit, with anchor mount, windlass, cross bollard, port and starboard line chocks and an opening hatch. A hailer horn is mounted on the forward flybridge coaming, with an air horn mounted on the port side.

SALON:

As with the entire interior of the boat, the salon is richly appointed with fine teak joinery and paneling throughout. You'll know you are aboard a yacht while relaxing in this space. Descending the distinctive curving stair case from the sun deck a straight settee, which converts to a double bunk, is found to starboard, with two chairs separated by a table to port. Access to the aft stateroom is via starboard center mounted companionway at the rear of the salon. A flatscreen TV is mounted on the aft bulkhead on the starboard side. The helm is located forward on the starboard side and includes a raised bench seat with drawers underneath. There is a countertop opposite the helm on the port side featuring a vertical hand hold mounted toward midship. Additional for and aft hand holds are mounted overhead running the length of the salon. The stair case leading to the lower deck is found forward, between the helm and the counter. There is a sliding door next to the helm leading to the starboard side deck and the salon is wrapped on 3 sides by large windows that provide fantastic views and plenty of light.

GALLEY:

From the salon the U shaped galley is four steps down on the port side. A counter runs along the port side, fore and aft and features a double stainless steel sink with hot and cold running water. A large Norcold refrigerator/freezer is found on the aft side the galley, with a 3 burner electric stove/oven opposite on the forward side of the galley. Over counter cabinetry runs along all three sides of the galley, with a microwave mounted undeath the forward cabinet on the port side. Additional storage is found under the countertop, accessed by doors located under the sink

DAY HEAD:

The day head, which doubles as a shower, is found opposite the galley on the starboard side. It features a counter top running the length of the head on the starboard side, with a stainless sink mounted in the counter on the right side. The sink has a storage locker underneath and features a dual purpose spigot/shower wand with hot and cold running water. An Raritan electric marine head is located at the forward bulkhead to the left of the sink, with a storage locker and towel rings mounted above. There is an opening port with shade above the sink and a mirror is mounted on the aft bulkhead.

FORWARD STATEROOM:

The forward stateroom is entered from the galley area. It features a single lower bunk and double upper bunk on the starboard side with a shelf/bench opposite on the port side that could be converted to a child's bunk if needed. There is a full length hanging locker on the port side aft of the shelf/bench. An opening hatch is found overhead. The chain locker is accessed through a door in the forward bulkhead.

AFT STATEROOM:

The aft stateroom is entered three steps down from the salon through a companionway. The full beam stateroom features centerline walkaround king bed. The teak joinery includes bedside tables aft and chested drawers and hanging lockers extending the length of the cabin on the port and starboard sides. Mirrors and shelving are found above the chests, all topped by shaded windows. Two large opening hatches are mounted in the aft bulkhead port and starboard opening to the cockpit. A sink with hot and cold running water is found on the port side, followed by the ensuite head in the forward port section of the cabin. As with all interior sections of this yacht, you would never guess you are aboard a fiberglass vessel within this beautiful teak interior cabin.

AFT ENSUITE HEAD:

The ensuite head is found on the forward port side of the aft stateroom. It includes a counter extending the length of the head on the port side. A stainless sink with hot and cold running water is mounted in the counter at the forward port corner of the head. Storage lockers are found under the counter with a shelf running above.
